From Bahia Langosta Condominiums, the village of Tamarindo is a short cab ride or an enjoyable 20 minute walk, either on the beach or along the wonderful quaint roads that lead to the village.  There you will find all types of restaurants, fun shops and happy street vendors selling their wares. In Tamarindo you will also find an amazing selection of fine international and typical Costa Rican restaurants, there is even a Belgian bakery.  You will enjoy sampling the wonderful variations of uniquely prepared specialties which feature local fresh fish, fruits and vegetables.

Tamarindo's climate has two seasons, dry and rainy, sometimes called the green season. The green season begins in late April or early May and continues through October.  A typical day is sunny or partly cloudly until late afternoon or evening when showers come through and then move offshore.  Often times this produces some incredible sunsets.  Temperatures range between 80 and 100 degrees F year round.

Playa Langosta

Playa Langosta is well known for its awesome surf and its beautiful beachfront. Some of the coast along Playa Langosta is rocky and with pockets of sandy beaches. One could spend hours relaxing on this beautiful beach or walking amongst the many tide pools teaming with life. At the southern end of Playa Langosta is the mouth of an estuary, this is where the only surf break on this beach is and on the right swell the waves can get very good.

Las Baulas National Park Preserved for Leatherback Turtle Nesting

Just south of Tamarindo is a beautiful estuary and Playa Langosta, which is a protected nesting area for the giant leatherback turtles. This beach is one of the major nesting areas worldwide for the turtles, which arrive from October to March to lay their eggs. Tours led by official guides are available to take visitors to see this incredible sight.
